What most people wondered when news broke of Hawke's affair with the nanny (whom Thurman hired) was "How do you cheat on gorgeous, successful, seemingly down to earth, mother of your children Uma Thurman?" That question was on everyone's mind has never truly been answered.

Ethan and Uma married in 1998, had two children, Maya and Levon, then divorced in 2004 over Hawke's affair with then nanny, Ryan Shawhughes. After the split, Thurman went on record to say she would never get married again (she later took it back as news of her engagement to multi-millionaire Andre Balasz circulated) and she still refuses to say one bad thing about her children's father. Even so, there is still an evident strain between the two as she will only refer to him as "my children's father" and never "my ex-husband".

Hawke, on the other hand, has never really directly addressed the divorce issue. He's only vaguely cited her career as one of the downfalls to their marriage.

Another Marriage, Another Baby

Hawke and Shawhughes were married at an undisclosed location in New York. The nuptials had to have been a very intimate affair, as no word has surfaced about any other friends that witnessed the vow swapping.

Hawke and new wife Ryan are expecting their first child, said to be a girl, very soon - so it's safe to say a baby announcement, to go along with Matthew McConaughey's and Nicole Kidman's, is on the way.
