Eric Dane Tape

The Eric Dane tape is a video that was somehow leaked to the online tabloids, in which actor Eric Dane, his wife and one of their friends hangs around an apartment in the nude, apparently high on drugs. There is no sex on the tape itself, even though it is often referred to as a celebrity sex tape.

Celebrity gossip site Gawker was the first to post part of the Eric Dane tape. The film shows Dane along with his wife, actor Rebecca Gayheart and their friend, former Miss Teen USA Kari Ann Peniche. At one point, Gayheart proclaims that she's so high that she needs to lie down.

The trio is in Peniche's apartment and all three of them are naked. They discuss what their porn star names might be and eventually Gayheart and Peniche get into the bathtub together. The tape has been edited down to three minutes in length, but was reportedly twelve minutes long originally.

Eric William Dane was born on November 9, 1972, in San Francisco, California. He has had roles on many different television shows, including:

After a variety of small roles in Hollywood movies, Dane became a regular cast member on the TV show Grey's Anatomy, in which he plays Dr. Mark Sloan. His character has been nicknamed "Dr. McSteamy."

Rebecca Gayheart was born on August 12, 1971, in Hazard, Kentucky. She is perhaps best known for a series of commercials she did for the Noxzema brand of skin care items, during which time she became known as "The Noxzema Girl."

Most of these roles have been single episode appearances or short-lived recurring roles.

In 2001, Gayheart struck and killed a nine year old boy, who was crossing the street on his way home from school. While other cars had stopped to allow the boy to cross, Gayheart swerved her car around the others and proceeded through the intersection, hitting the boy on her way through. She has admitted that she was talking on her cell phone at the time and therefore not paying attention to the road.

Gayheart settled a civil suit with the boys' family out of court and received three years' probation, community service, a license suspension and a small fine when she pleaded no contest to charges of vehicular manslaughter.

Kari Ann Peniche was born on March 20, 1984, in San Diego, California. She started modeling early in her life and has held the titles of Miss Teen Oregon and Miss Teen USA. Peniche was stripped of the latter title after appearing nude in an issue of Playboy magazine.

Peniche was briefly engaged to Backstreet Boys member Aaron Carter – their engagement lasted a full six days before the pair split.

It seems that controversy surrounds Peniche quite a lot these days. In the summer of 2009, she was announced as a cast member for the new season of Celebrity Rehab with Dr. Drew, to be treated for sex addiction. She was tossed from the show when she punched a cameraman and stole personal property and cash from her roommate, singer Mindy McCready.

Further rumors are now swirling about Peniche, alleging that she is a Hollywood madam, running some type of escort service.

Eric Dane and Rebecca Gayheart have decided to sue Gawker media for releasing the tape, claiming copyright infringement. They are asking for a million dollars in damages. Their lawyer has also said that they will sue anyone who decides to make the tape available for viewing.

For its part, Gawker still has their censored version of the tape posted on the website, and has also posted the threats from the lawyer.
