Ellen DeGeneres Brings Wit to Greeting Card Collection
From LoveToKnow Celebrity
Ellen DeGeneres is taking funny to a whole new level. American Greetings Corporation announced March 20, 2007 that it will partner with DeGeneres, a comedian by trade, to create a new line of greeting cards called the "ellen collection."
How Funny Is This?
The award-winning talk show host will feature a line of 32 cards that bear her likeness in illustrations along with her quirky day-to-day observations. The selection of cards will include:
- Birthdays
- Friendship
- Thank you
- Encouragement
The cards will be available at major grocery and drug stores that already carry American Greetings products beginning in the summer of 2007.

"I like to be up in the middle of everything, and doing it this way is much easier than crashing parties."
Besides hosting The Ellen DeGeneres Show, she has also hosted the People's Choice Awards and the 2007 Academy Awards. To date, she has received 15 Daytime Emmy awards and has been nominated for 12 more in 2007.
Joining the Ranks
Ellen DeGeneres joins fellow comedian Jeff Foxworthy as a greeting card writer. Foxworthy, who hosts the game show Are You Smarter Than a 5th Grader?, previously developed a line of cards for American Greetings called, "You Might be a Redneck..."
