David Duchovny Completes Rehab
From LoveToKnow Celebrity
Californication star David Duchovny has officially completed his rehab for an admitted sex addiction.
Past Jokes, Denials
In an interview for Playgirl magazine, done over a decade ago, Duchovny addressed the rampant rumor that he was addicted to the more carnal pleasures in life with an emphatic "I am not a sex addict." He claimed that he had never been "…to one of those meetings" and that it would be "hurtful" to the woman if he were in a monogamous relationship at the time.
At the time of his interview, his show The X-Files was an enormous success, so there really is no telling if he was addicted to sex and just didn't want to admit it for fear of doing damage to the show, or if he really wasn't a sex addict back then.
His wife of 11 years now, Tea Leoni, also addressed the issue with jokes, stating that the notion of her then new husband being a sex addict "very exciting."
Admission, Rehab
Shortly after Californication finished filming season two, David Duchovny confirmed his long rumored addiction by making a public statement that he was entering rehab for treatment. His wife has not made a public statement regarding her husband's addiction.
Back to Work
David Duchovny is set to star in a film with Demi Moore titled The Jonses. The film is scheduled for release sometime in 2009.
As for Californication, the new season began at the end of September and the producers and staff at Showtime have publicly come forward in support of Duchovny with well wishes.
