David Caruso Accused of Abuse

David Caruso is accused of abuse by his ex-girlfriend Liza Marquez.

He Said

In Caruso's corner, his reps say that he was "concerned with the welfare of his children," so he filed court papers with the goal of changing his visitation schedule.

She Said

Marquez responded with a suit of her own, claiming, among other charges, that he emotionally, physically and mentally abused her during their four year relationship.

He Said

Caruso and camp claim that Marquez's lawsuit is just a sad attempt to distract attention away from the case at hand regarding his visitation schedule with his children.

She Said

Marquez also claims that David told her to terminate her first pregnancy, insisted she quite her job as a travel agent and promised to give her $1 million in "compensation" and a home of his in the San Fernando Valley.

An Investigation…CSI Style?

How do authorities investigate such allegations, given that the relationship ended years ago? Why is Marquez, years later, just now hurling abuse allegations? It seems that during the relationship Caruso promised to always "take care" of Marquez, but a lawsuit seeking over $1 million for breach of contract and punitive damages years after the relationship has ended?

If she were suing for, say, back child support, then the lawsuit would have more merit. Of course, we all hope the allegations aren't true, because no one deserves to be abused, emotionally or otherwise. If he was truly abusing her, why would she not come forward years ago when the abuse could actually be proven with, you know, physical evidence?

We'll all just have to wait and see how this whole mess pans out. Hopefully, when it does, it is in the best interest of all parties involved, especially their two children.
