Danny DeVito Opens Florida Eatery
Legendary actor Danny DeVito was always one to cook his meals in his trailer during television and movie productions. Well, the former Taxi star decided to expand his culinary expertise and open his first restaurant. DeVito South Beach recently opened on Miami Beach, on Florida's trendy Ocean Drive.
About DeVito South Beach
This higher-end contemporary Italian eatery has DeVito's signature meal: a $325 trio of steaks from the United States, Japan and Australia. It serves three people. But the menu is diverse, according to DeVito, 62, who is currently filming FX's It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia. "Fish is really big for me - sushi, a nice branzino or spigola (sea bass). Or pasta with some great cheese like pecorino or romano with some prosciutto or salami," he said to the Associated Press. "If you haven't noticed, I'm not one to pass up a meal."
DeVito's Also Serving Up Some Lemons
It's no secret Danny DeVito loves to drink; he even admitted that while being a little tipsy on a November 2006 episode of The View. So it's no surprise that the very drink he told the gals on The View he was drinking the night before with George Clooney was recently bottled. Starting in August 2007, Danny DeVito's Premium Limoncello Liqueur will be available for about $25. "Really primo stuff," DeVito told the Miami Herald recently. "It's made with the zest of Sorrento lemons and tastes really clean, not syrupy at all."
