Dancing with the Stars
From LoveToKnow Celebrity
It’s the dream of a lifetime to go Dancing with the Stars. This hit celebrity reality series begins its fourth season March 19, 2007 with a two-hour premiere on ABC. Last season, Dancing with the Stars was one of television's most-watched shows. The March premiere is strategically scheduled so the finals will hit during May sweeps.
Dancing with the Stars first aired June 1, 2005. This unique series pairs professional ballroom dancers with celebrities. Each couple competes live on television and in front of a studio audience. They are judged by a panel of experts and the television audience. Every week, a team is eliminated from the competition.
Around the World
Dancing with the Stars is the American version of an Australian show called Strictly Come Dancing. The show is popular all over the world. Though the names are different, the show airs in more than 30 countries, including:
- Austria
- Belgium
- Brazil
- Canada
- Chili
- Germany
- Greece
- Hong Kong
- Israel
- Italy
- Japan
- Mexico
- Russia

New Time Slot
Last season, Dancing with the Stars aired Monday nights. This year, the 90-minute performance show will air at 8 p.m. every Monday. The one-hour results shows will air at 9.p.m. Tuesdays. This move was strategically made so the show would not compete with American Idol.
