Da Brat Heading to Prison

The Altercation

Da Brat was at a Halloween party at the Atlanta club Studio 72 when she and another woman, Shayla Stevens, physically bumped into each other. The two ladies, who already had a past history of butting heads, exchanged words - then Stevens, a former Atlanta Falcons cheerleader, walked away. Apparently, Da Brat didn't want to let the whole situation go and picked up a rum bottle, with which she hit Stevens in the face. Stevens suffered deep cuts and bruises and now has a permanent scar on her face as a reminder of the incident.

Da Brat was arrested and charged with felony aggravated assault.

The Sentencing

Da Brat appeared in court on August 22, 2008 to face up to her charges and receive her punishment. The judge was not easy on the now pseudo-celebrity and sentenced the 34 year old to three years in prison, seven years probation, 200 hours of community service, anger management classes, a mental evaluation and ordered her to enter a substance abuse program.

This is the second assault incident for Da Brat. Her last display of bad behavior was when she pistol-whipped Rezue Robateue for not moving out of her seat in the VIP section at a different Atlanta club for Da Brat and her entourage. Like Stevens, Robateue was cut in the face and required several stitches.
