Corey Haims Doctors Subpoened

After the news broke about the massive number of prescription drugs in his possession before his death, Corey Haim's doctors were subpoenaed by authorities.

Numerous Prescriptions and Thousands of Pills

California Attorney General Jerry Brown is investigating how and why dozens of doctors gave Corey Haim dozens of different prescriptions. Haim allegedly took the prescriptions to a number of pharmacies to get them filled.

Just days before his sudden passing, one of Haim's doctors prescribed him four different types of drugs on the same day, including narcotics and anti-psychotics. In that bunch of prescriptions was one for diazepam (commonly known as Valium), which, in the past, Haim had admitted to taking nearly 100 of this anti-anxiety drug in one day.

Mass Subpoenas

The California Attorney General's office has reportedly subpoenaed 20 of Haim's doctors and rumor has it that there are a handful more that may be called down to the A.G.'s office by the end of the week.Allegedly, there are no less than seven of Haim's docs, which authorities believe are involved in an illegal prescription drug ring. The doctors were reportedly already under investigation for writing fraudulent prescriptions prior to Corey Haim's death.

Other Celebrity Death Investigations

The Attorney General's office is also investigating a number of doctors for writing prescriptions for Michael Jackson and Brittney Murphy. So far, authorities have neither confirmed nor denied that there is a link regarding the doctors and the deaths of Haim, Murphy and Jackson. The investigation alleges that they believe many of the doctors wrote prescriptions for the stars without medical cause.
