Corey Haim Advertises Himself in Variety
From LoveToKnow Celebrity
By now, we’re more than aware that Corey Haim’s acting career has dried up, but it looks like the actor is making a last ditch effort – with an advertisement featuring himself in Variety magazine.
About Corey Haim
During the 1980s, Corey Haim made a splash on the big screen in films like Silver Bullet, Lucas and The Lost Boys. Often seen in films with his real life best friend, Corey Feldman, it looked like Corey Haim’s career had nowhere to go but up.
Fast forward to the nineties, when movie roles became scarcer and his recreational drug usage escalated into a full blown drug addiction and Haim suddenly became unemployable.
His downward spiral removed him from the acting world for a number of years and in 2001 he was the subject of an E! True Hollywood Story in 2001.
Starting Over
In his E! True Hollywood Story, Haim recounted his film success and subsequent fall with drug abuse and made it known that he wanted to act again.
In 2007, Bravo took a chance on both Haim and his buddy, Corey Feldman, developing the series The Two Coreys. In the reality series, Haim moves in with Feldman and his new wife – in sort of an Odd Couple pairing.
For better or for worse, the reality show garnered Haim some attention yet again – and the show was renewed for a second season.
Variety Advertisement
Corey Haim’s most recent attempt to get back in the spotlight was the full page Variety ad featuring a smiling Haim with the copy: "This is not a stunt. I’m back. I’m ready to work. I’m ready to make amends."
Did the advertising work? While it’s too early to tell if any serious movie executives are going to take advantage of Haim’s talents, rumors have been flying online that Haim will join the cast of the highly anticipated sequel to The Lost Boys.

Corey hun, if you read this, I'm so impressed with how you're putting yourself out there. You've come a long way and I'm proud of you. I'm 37 and always wanted to meet you, but, at least now I can see you back on TV and the big screen. The magazine is a good way for people to take notice and don't let anyone tell you different. Luv ya.
-- Contributed by: AndreaI've always loved Corey. I grew up watching him in movies and I'm so proud that he's a Canadian and that he's back. You need some kind of publicity to get your foot in the door. This takes a lot of curage. He's struggled for years, and has survived and is determined to make a comeback. Good for you, Cor. Good luck. I'm sure you will do well.
