Chris Brown Trial Jeopardized by Photo Leak
From LoveToKnow Celebrity
The assault trial of Chris Brown is in jeopardy of getting dismissed due to the leaked photos of Rihanna after the incident.
Gross Misconduct
Attorney Mark Geragos has filed for a motion to push Chris Brown's trial date as far as the courts would allow. The judge allowed about a month and set the preliminary trial for the end of May. Why the push back? Geragos and his team are investigating the matter of the police photos taken of Rihanna that swarmed the Internet just days after the assault. Geragos believes that the only way this could have ever happened is due to "…outrageous government misconduct" and is looking to get the entire case against his fallen-superstar client dismissed.
Brown is currently charged with assault with force likely to cause great bodily injury and making criminal threats. Both charges are felonies.
The Photo Leak
The photo was leaked to the press just days after the attack and was published on TMZ.com. Representatives for the Los Angeles Police Department confirmed that the photo closely resembled the police photos taken of Rihanna the night of the attack. The LAPD subsequently launched an investigation to figure out how the pictures went public.
The photos are considered key evidence in the case against Brown. If they can't be used and with Rihanna undecided as to whether or not she is going to testify against Brown, the case will more than likely be dismissed due to lack of evidence.
