Chris Brown Arrested

19-year-old R&B singer Chris Brown was arrested for allegedly assaulting his girlfriend Rihanna.

The Altercation

The two super-hot pop stars were leaving Clive Davis' pre-Grammy party when they reportedly began arguing. According to a statement made to the police, Brown stopped the car and Rihanna got out. The statement also said that the 20-year old had visible injuries and a witness pointed out Brown as Rihanna's alleged attacker.

Police were called to the scene, but by the time they arrived, Brown had left. Initial rumors circulated that the duo were involved in a car accident.

Jail then Bail

Chris Brown reportedly turned himself into the police the next evening and then left after posting $50,000 bail. The case has been turned over to the district attorney's office, which will decide whether or not formal charges will be filed against the With You singer.

Grammy Performances

Chris Brown and Rihanna were scheduled to perform separately at the Grammy Awards. Both stars were up for Grammy's in the same category of Best Pop Collaboration with Vocals, though they were both beaten out by Rich Woman by Allison Krauss and Robert Plant.

Both Brown and Rihanna canceled their performances. Al Green, best known for his hit Let's Stay Together was asked to take the stage shortly before the show was to begin in order to fill the time that would have otherwise been filled by Rihanna and Brown.
