Celebrity Fit Club 4
From LoveToKnow Celebrity
VH1’s Celebreality weight loss series, Celebrity Fit Club 4, continued in the fall of 2006. Learn more about the celebrities involved, the drama, and the amazing results.
Celebrity Fit Club 4 Format
The fourth edition of Celebrity Fit Club, which aired in 2006, followed the same format as previous seasons. Eight overweight celebrities participated in challenges, modified their eating, and exercised for 100 days. At each weigh-in, an expert panel counseled the contestants on how to effectively lose weight, and set their target goal for the next weigh in. Over the course of the contest, the participants competed for prizes. Ultimately, the team that had lost the most collective weight won a big prize package.
Meet the Contestants
- Ted Lange, actor most famous for his role on The Love Boat
- Carnie Wilson, singer, Wilson Phillips
- Bone Crusher, rapper
- Erika Eleniak, Playboy model and Baywatch actress
- Tina Yothers, actress, Family Ties
- Angie Stone, R&B singer
- Vincent Pastore, actor, Sopranos
- Nick Turturro, actor, NYPD Blue
Meet the Panel of Experts
The Celebrity Fit Club 4 panel provided guidance to the celebrities as they lost weight, with a nutrition expert, a therapist, and a fitness expert. Dr. Ian Smith, who wrote the book The Fat Smash Diet, begins each weigh-in by having the celebrity stand on the scale as he tells them their loss or gain for the week. He counsels each celebrity on how to adjust their diet to achieve adequate results. Dr. Linda Papadopoulos helps each contestant better understand their weight loss obstacles. Drill Sergeant Harvey Walden provides comic relief, even if unintentionally, as a hard-as-nails exercise expert and motivator.
Celebrity Fit Club Grand Prize
Over the course of the 100 day challenge, there were a variety of small rewards and prizes, but nothing topped the final prize package for Celebrity Fit Club 4. The team with the largest weight loss received $150,000 in prizes, including concierge service, a watch, a trip to Cabo San Lucas, luggage, and $20,000.
Carnie’s team, the Fat Crushers, won the grand prize, with a total loss of 129 pounds. Hot Buttered Soul lost a total of 119 pounds.
Additionally, the person with the largest loss of body weight won a 2007 Camry Hybrid. Two contestants, Tina Yothers and Erika Eleniak, were in a close competition. In the end, Tina won the car, with a 21.8% loss of body weight.
Final Episode
Each celebrity took to the scale for a final weigh-in, as they learned about their weight loss for the challenge. The finale also provided a visual look at where each person started and how far they had come, with the use of a before shot that morphed into their final image. The final Celebrity Fit Club 4 “Fit Camp” was a return to the first challenge they had on the series, where each was able to perform at a much higher level than their first show.
Fit Club Drama
What would this reality series be without a little celebrity drama?
- Nick and Ted engaged in a fiery rivalry, but the competition turned friendly as they each pushed the other to try harder.
- Nick had anger management issues and battled the insecurities of following in his famous brother’s footsteps.
- Carnie challenged the panel when they discussed the surgery she had for her initial weight loss.
- Angie almost quit the program when she thought her health problems were too serious. With a doctor’s evaluation and encouragement from Tina, she was able to continue and realize her weight loss goals.
