Celebrity Deaths: June 2006
Aaron Spelling
During the 70’s, 80’s and 90’s one couldn’t change the television dial without landing on a show created by Aaron Spelling. Charlie’s Angels, Dynasty, Beverly Hills 90210 and Melrose Place are just a small sampling of his hits. Thanks to Spelling, "snark" became a household word.
Sadly, Spelling passed away on June 23 at the age of 83, after suffering a stroke. Though he is sure to be missed, we will be watching his shows for years to come. Spelling is survived by his wife Candy and their two children, Tori and Randy.
Richard Stahl
The name might not sound familiar to many, but his face is sure to ring a bell. Richard Stahl, who passed away June 18 at the age of 74, after a decade of battling Parkinson’s Disease, was a star of stage and screen. Some of Stahl’s credits include Ghosts of Mississippi, The American President and the television show Newhart. Stahl is survived by his wife, actress Katherine Ish and their two children, Allegra and Oliver.
Billy Preston
Fans of the Beatles, The Stones and Eric Clapton remember Billy Preston as a keyboardist who sometimes collaborated with these superstars. He was also a talented songwriter and musician in his own right, spawning hits such as “Nothing from Nothing” and “Will it Go Round in Circles”. Preston, who was also featured in the movie Sgt. Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band, passed away June 9 from kidney failure. He is survived by his two children.

Paul Gleason
Who can forget Paul Gleason as the principal in The Breakfast Club or as Police Chief Dwayne T. Robinson in Die Hard? Gleason lost his battle with mesothelioma on May 27, 2006. He is survived by his wife, Susan Kiel, and their two children.
Celebrity Deaths: April 2006
June Pointer
The incredibly talented Pointer Sisters are now a duo instead of a trio. LoveToKnow Celebrity is sad to report that June Pointer passed away on April 11 from an undisclosed form of cancer. Pointer will best be remembered for hits such as “Jump”, “I’m So Excited” and “Neutron Dance”. She is survived by her five brothers and sisters. She was 52-years-old.
Celebrity Deaths: March 2006
Buck Owens
Country music fans mourn the loss of Buck Owens. Owens, probably best known for pickin’ and grinnin’ on the popular Hee Haw passed away on March 25 at the age of 76. Owens is survived by three sons.
Dana Reeve
No one fought harder for the cause than Dana Reeve. After her husband, actor Christopher Reeve, was paralyzed in an equestrian accident, she fought to find cures and treatments for paralysis. Reeve succumbed to lung cancer on March 6 at the age of 44. She is survived by her father, two sisters, two step children and a son.

Darrin McGavin
Best known for his role as the leg lamp loving father in a Christmas Story and the vampire fighting Kolchak, Darren McGavin died on February 25 at the age of 83. He’s survived by his four children.
Don Knotts
Don Knotts, who played Barney Fife on The Andy Griffin Show and Mr. Furley on Three’s Company died of respiratory complications on February 24 at the age of 81.
Celebrity Deaths: January 2006
Chris Penn
Chris Penn, remembered for his roles in Footloose and Reservoir Dogs, was only 40 when he passed away. The primary cause of death has been listed as "heart disease." Penn is survived by his mother and brothers, actor Sean Penn and singer Michael Penn.
