It’s not the water in Hollywood that gives everyone perfect skin, teeth, noses, and bodies; celebrities and plastic surgery seem to go hand in hand. They use it as a means of fine tuning their appearance. In celebrity land, apparently, the motto is if you’ve got it, flaunt it, and if you don’t have it, buy it.
Michael Jackson
Could any discussion of celebrities and plastic surgery not include Michael Jackson? The King of Pop is rumored to have had so much plastic surgery that his nose has actually ceased to exist and has now been replaced with a prosthetic one. The same rumors apply to his chin and cheekbones. No one knows exactly how much plastic surgery Michael Jackson has had, but the mother of his children, Deborah Rowe, was the nurse in his plastic surgeon’s office, so it is probably fair to speculate they had ample time to get to know each other during his frequent visits.
Michael Jackson’s is further rumored to have lightened his skin tone through a cosmetic procedure. He denies the charges and claims he is losing pigment in his skin due to a skin condition.

Ashlee Simpson
In 2006, pop star Ashlee Simpson completely made over her image. Not by adding a few new pieces to her wardrobe but by buying herself a new nose, possibly some new cheekbones, and now, apparently, new lips. This photo from Perez Hilton seems to confirm that Ashlee went out and invested a great deal of money to look just like her sister, Jessica.
Pamela Anderson
Pamela Anderson is one celebrity who has used plastic surgery to keep all eyes focused squarely on her bust line. Anderson has had her breasts freakishly enlarged, then smaller, and now large again. While all her surgery certainly helped her pull of that potentially unflattering red, one piece Baywatch swimsuit, David Hasselhof, for one, does not approve.
Kenny Rogers
Well, at least Kenny Rogers ‘fesses up to his mistakes. This celebrity turned to People magazine to out himself over one seriously bad eye job. Rogers also told People that he actually has had several rounds of surgery and blames it all on the image-obsessed entertainment business.
Paris Hilton
Think Paris Hilton was born blonde and glamorous? Think again. She is just another case of marriage between celebrities and plastic surgery. These photos reveal the pre-surgery Hilton, who had a remarkably different nose from the Paris we all know. Note she also had a different color of hair and a different color of eyes in her younger years. Money may not buy happiness, but it clearly buys a lot.
Melanie Griffith
Former “America’s Sweetheart” Melanie Griffith has come under fire for her presumably large medical bills. Even boy toy husband Antonio Banderas is said to not be a fan of her tightly pulled skin, artificially plumped lip, and larger nose (Yep, larger. Go figure.) Check out the before and after pictures.
