Britney Spears Child Abuse Investigation
From LoveToKnow Celebrity
News of the Los Angeles Department of Child and Family Services (DCFS) investigation of Britney Spears regarding allegations of child abuse and/or neglect of her two boys, unfortunately, comes as no surprise.
Sealed Documents
The Los Angeles Superior Court had previously sealed the court documents pertaining to the ongoing custody war between the parents of Sean Preston and Jayden James, due the very high-profile nature of the case. Los Angeles DCFS contends that it has received "multiple abuse and neglect" claims from unnamed sources, and therefore must investigate. In order to conduct a proper investigation, a portion of the previously sealed court documents must be unsealed.
No Need to Ask Why
Really, there is no need to ask why Britney Spears is being investigated for child abuse and/or neglect but for anyone who needs a recap of her public parenting, here goes:
- February 2006 – Spears is caught on camera driving down the road with son Sean Preston sitting in her lap and not safely strapped into a car seat.
- May 2006 – This time, she had a car seat for then infant, Sean Preston, but it was facing the wrong direction. She can't possibly claim ignorance on this one. Infant car seats come plastered with irremovable directions regarding proper use directly on the car seat.
- November 2007 – Runs a red light at a busy intersection while using a cell phone (not on her ear, in front of her face) with her sleeping children in the back seat.
- November 2007 – Again, with kids in tow, Britney is driving while wearing sunglasses…at night.
There is No Defense
Alright, for all the Britney supporters, maybe she does need a little break from the circling sharks of the paparazzi, so here's an idea for her…hire a driver and a nanny. Sure, the paparazzi is relentless and invasive, but without all the media attention she received when her star was rising, she wouldn't be a celebrity. When you put your life out there for the world to see and the paparazzi to capture on film, you can't call a time-out just because you don't like it anymore.
