Britney Spears’ (Mini) Comeback
From LoveToKnow Celebrity
As rumors swirled that pop diva Britney Spears would be appearing at several House of Blues shows during the week of April 30, 2007, fans scooped up tickets in hopes that they could catch a glimpse of her comeback tour.
About Britney Spears
Britney Spears is no stranger to making headlines, but 2006 seemed to be a record tabloid year for the singer. Driving with her baby in her lap, a strange interview with NBC's Matt Lauer and a highly publicized divorce from Kevin Federline were just the beginning.
In early 2007, Britney gained even more attention when she shaved her head at a salon, then went to get a late-night tattoo. She had several mini attempts at entering rehab, but finally had a successful stay on her third try. After leaving rehab, she appeared to be on the fast track to getting her post-baby body back, including sessions at a dance studio.
Comeback Rumors
Of course, many speculated that her hours spent at the dance studio meant that she was training for a comeback. Then the gossip started to fly -- Spears was rumored to be appearing at a show for the band The M+ M's at the House of Blues in San Diego. While no one had heard of the band, the possibility of a Spears' sighting was enough to get people to buy tickets.
Celebrity Support
Spears’ third show even garnered a little celebrity interest. Party pal Lindsay Lohan was on hand at the West Hollywood House of Blues, as well as The Hills’ Whitney Port. Even Joe Simpson, father/manager of Ashlee and Jessica Simpson, was also rumored to have attended the show. Joe Simpson recently expressed an interest in managing Britney’s comeback career.
