British Singer Amy Winehouse, Hubby Enter Rehab
From LoveToKnow Celebrity
British singer Amy Winehouse is hanging up her microphone to enter rehab to treat a drug and alcohol addiction, reported TMZ.com. The soul songstress and hubby Blake Fielder-Civil agreed to enter a facility following a three-day drug binge that hospitalized Winehouse on August 7, 2007.
Cancels Rolling Stones Concert
Like several young celebrities these days, Winehouse's alleged addiction to heroin and cocaine is getting her into more trouble than it's worth. Because of her treatment, the 23-year-old has cancelled her concerts in Germany where she was supposed to open for The Rolling Stones.
According to Times Online, Winehouse said she didn't know why she went on a partying binge. "I was so out of control. It just happened. It shocked me. I’m sorry – I just don’t know what got into me," she said. "I’ve scared myself this time. I was all over the place. I know things have got to change. I have to sort myself out."
Unusual Behavior
Winehouse, who stormed the airwaves in England in 2003 and a few years later in the United States, has been known for her on-stage drinking, harming herself with a piece of broken mirror during an interview and attacking a female fan during a concert. She is currently nominated for three MTV Video Music Awards.
Her Treatment
Amy Winehouse will follow in the footsteps of other young celebs such as Lindsay Lohan and Britney Spears and be treated at an undisclosed facility. She supposedly is under the care of the doctor who helped former addict Kelly Osbourne come clean. Ironically, the first hit off her Back To Black album is entitled, Rehab.
