About Big Brother

Big Brother first started in the United States in 2000 – this reality television competition allowed the viewing audience to watch a houseful of people as they battled each other in various competitions. Each week, the viewers voted off a houseguest. In later seasons, the houseguests themselves became responsible for eliminating another person each week. The winning houseguest is the final person remaining and the winner of the show's $1 million.

About Mike Malin

Mike “Boogie,” as he became known as on the second season of Big Brother, managed to keep his 15 minutes of fame in full-swing despite losing the competition. Not only did he open the restaurant group The Dolce Group, but he also returned to the All Stars edition of the series in 2006 and won the $1 million prize.

The Incident

Mike “Boogie” was watching the World Series championship in a Denver bar, sporting a Boston Red Sox jersey. The Colorado Rockies lost to the Red Sox and his dress choice apparently upset a waitress at the bar. Boogie allegedly assaulted the waitress and was arrested. He was released on October 30, 2007 after posting bond.

A publicist for The Dolce Group said, "Malin is working with his legal team to properly handle the misunderstanding and the charges."
