Beyoncé's Wardrobe Malfunction
From LoveToKnow Celebrity
Nothing like a celebrity oops to get some concert video footage onto YouTube! Just ask Beyoncé Knowles.
The Wardrobe Malfunction
During a bouncy performance of Deja Vu in Toronto, Canada, the singer's top flew open and exposed what everyone thought were her bare breasts. However, People magazine explained that the wardrobe malfunction was just that -- but Beyoncé, 25, came prepared with natural looking undergarments just in case this would happen. She was in town launching her new clothing line, Dereon.
"She's wearing a flesh-tone bra! Do you really think Beyoncé would go onstage like that," her publicist is reported as saying. The mishap was captured by a concert-goer and appeared on YouTube within hours. TMZ.com is also running the video.
Beyoncé's Other Mishap
This isn't Beyoncé's first on-stage mishap. On July 24, 2007, during a concert in Orlando, Florida, the singer took a tumble down a flight of stairs. She did, however, quickly regain her composure and continued with the show.
History of Wardrobe Malfunctions
This relatively new term was coined after the 2004 Super Bowl when singer Janet Jackson's breast was exposed during a half-time performance with Justin Timberlake, who ripped off part of her top as part of the act. Supposedly, her breast was supposed to be covered, not exposed. Both celebrities claim the action was not planned, but rather Jackson's clothing "malfunctioned."
