What's Up with the Name?

Sometimes it seems like celebrities give their children crazy names in order to draw more attention to themselves. People are going to talk if you name your new baby Apple or Knox, but not so much if you name the little tyke James or Julia. So, the latest baby name to join the crazy celebrity baby name club is Ashlee Simpson and Pete Wentz's little bundle with this name: Bronx Mowgli Wentz. Yep, Mowgli, like that kid that was raised by wolves in The Jungle Book. So, when Bronx Wentz grows up, he has a New York city borough and Rudyard Kipling to thank for his moniker. Although, no one is sure he'll be grateful.

Okay, you may be thinking what many people are thinking…the name must mean something, right? Like the name Jonah means "dove" or the name Sophie means "wisdom"? Wrong. It doesn't, Kipling made up the name for his book, he pulled it completely out of his imagination. Maybe Ashlee and Pete are just huge fans of The Jungle Book.

Bronx came into the world at seven pounds and 11 ounces and 20.5 inches long. Baby, mom and dad are reportedly doing fine and are extremely excited about the newest member of their little family.
