The sun was shining on Ashlee Simpson and Pete Wentz's Saturday, May 17 wedding but the guests (says a snitch) were dressed in less than bright and cheery spring wedding colors.

A "Goth Like" Wedding

Many of the guests in attendance were said to be dressed in black and painted their fingernails to match. Expect pictures of the wedding to grace the cover of People magazine soon. Simpson and Wentz reportedly made an exclusive deal with the magazine estimated at over $1 million for first dibs.

Until then, here's a description of the wedding setup that took place at Joe and Tina Simpson's home in California.

Ashlee wore a Monique Lhuillier wedding gown and a Vera Wang bridal dress.
Famous jeweler Neal Lane provided the baubles.
The men dressed in "skinny cut" tuxedos.
Dad Joe Simpson performed the ceremony.
A Gothic cross was erected at the wedding altar.
Jessica was Ashlee's maid of honor.
Large tents were put up in order to keep the ceremony private.

Furthering Pregnancy Rumors

The short engagement of around six weeks leaves many people wondering…why the rush and only goes to further support pregnancy rumors. More pregnancy gossip is making the rounds regarding Joe Simpson allegedly shopping around the exclusive rights to his youngest daughter's official pregnancy announcement for $1 million to the first taker. Mr. Simpson, of course, denies all allegations, stating they are "simply not true." Pete has denied the pregnancy rumors altogether while Ashlee has remained a little coy on the subject when questioned.

Getting married just a month after telling Matt Lauer during a Today show interview that she and Pete had not yet set a wedding date and were just "enjoying the engagement" certainly doesn't help toward the abatement of the baby rumors. Everyone will just have to wait and see because if she is pregnant, she can only hide it for so long.
