Two years later, Anna Nicole Smith's death is revisited by Florida authorities.
Howard K. Stern's Arrest
Florida prosecutors decided to take another, closer look at the death of Anna Nicole Smith - largely in part due to the arrest of Howard K. Stern, Smith's attorney and companion, as well as two other doctors. Stern and the doctors are being charged with various felony counts, including conspiracy to prescribe illegal drugs to Smith. Now, authorities in Florida are wondering if the actions on the part of the doctors and Stern had anything to do with her 2007 death.
Other Charges
Stern and the two doctors, Sandeep Kapoor and Khristine Eroshevich are also being brought up on charges of administering illegally prescribed medications to an addict. Stern and Kapoor have already been arrested, while Khristine Eroshevich has not. A warrant, however, has been issued for her arrest.
The state of California is charging the trio with a total of eight felony counts. Stern turned himself in to authorities and his bail was set at $20,000.
Anna Nicole Smith's 2007 death was officially ruled an accidental overdose after toxicology reports found that she had taken eight prescription drugs, such as methadone and other opiates. She also had oher non-prescription drugs in her system including vitamin B12 and a human growth hormone at the time of her death.
