An Interview with Cindy Margolis

Cindy Margolis, hailed the "Queen of the Internet" by the Guinness Book of World Records, took some time to answer questions for our LovetoKnow Celebrity readers.
Queen of the Internet
Cindy Margolis seemed to become an overnight sensation, perhaps a result of being in the right place at the right time as the Internet was gaining speed. Many of her fans wonder how she got her first big break.
LTK Celebrity: How did you get your start in the business?
Cindy Margolis (CM): I actually got started when my high school teacher gave our class an assignment to start our own small business. I decided to put out greeting cards with my picture on them! Oy! Anyway, a photographer saw one of the cards and my modeling career was born.
LTK: How did you earn the title “Queen of the Internet”? Were you surprised by the title?
CM: In 1996, I was named the most downloaded woman on the Internet by Yahoo Magazine. Heck, I wasn't even sure what a download was at that time, but I was excited about winning ANY title.
LTK: Of all of your roles –- model, talk show host, actress -– which do you enjoy the most?
CM: I really enjoy hosting. I loved my TV show I had in South Beach and I would really like to do another show like that.
Posing for a Purpose
Cindy Margolis is lending her celebrity status as the national spokesperson for Resolve, the national infertility association. Resolve provides information and support to people who are experiencing infertility -- something Cindy knows all too well. After struggling with infertility, she has had three beautiful children through infertility procedures. Recently, Cindy posed for Playboy magazine, with a portion of the proceeds from each issue sold benefiting the charity.
LTK: Some people may not be aware that the December 2006 issue of Playboy was the first time you have appeared nude. Why, at age 40, did you decide now was the time to pose for Playboy?
CM: I felt that, at age 40, I was in the best mental and physical condition of my life. I wanted to do something that would raise awareness and money for infertility so I "Posed for a Purpose" and donated a portion of the sales to Resolve.org, the infertility organization that I am a spokeperson for.
Family Life
With three kids and a busy career, it’s interesting to learn how Cindy has time to juggle it all.
LTK: How did you get back in shape after the birth of your baby, and how do you continue to stay in shape?
CM: It wasn't easy! I am not a healthy eater. I love junk food, especially McDonald's. I was going to join a gym, but I opted for a personal trainer and it really paid off. I still work out with a trainer three times a week.
LTK: How do you juggle motherhood with your fame?
CM: No matter what is happening in my celebrity life, my family comes first. Nicholas, Sabrina and Sierra mean the world to me, so when I do have to juggle things, my kids are my priority.

LTK: What is something that your fans may not know about you?
CM: Probably that I can't swim! I've taken hundreds and hundreds of great pictures at some of the most beautiful beaches in the world, and I was always afraid a wave would grab me, pull me out and I would drown!
LTK: Is there anything you have yet to do, but you would like to do?
CM: Personally, I would love to sky dive, but I'm not sure I'd have the nerve to do it. Career wise, I would love to be on Dancing with the Stars!
LTK: Would you ever consider doing a reality show?
CM: Of course! Actually, my partner Neil and I are working on a couple of reality treatments of our own.
LTK: So, what's next for Cindy Margolis?
CM: Well, I will be at Nikki Beach in Miami hosting a Super Bowl Bash with Dan Marino and Ludacris, Nelly and Kanye West on February 2 and 3. Then, I’m off to Orlando to emcee a Hootie and the Blowfish concert. I'm also starting my own personal brand of products called Sexy Forever.
